Andrew Garfield x Port Issue 35

Port’s A/W24 issue features six coverstars: Andrew Garfield, Sebastian Stan, Mustafa the Poet, Barry Keoghan, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Colman Domingo. The new cover designs follow the ambitious redesign led by Uncommon Creative Studio for the A/W23 issue.

The new cover design follows the same concept as the initial redesign from Uncommon in 2023 — all centred around the talent hand-writing their own title on their respective covers. Uncommon has led the creative direction on 15 covers to date, including the most recent issue of Port.

Port x Uncommon Redesign 2023

Port has always been a publication centred around telling people’s stories. Uncommon wanted to add individuality to each cover design — directing each cover star to draw their own version of the Port logo in their own style with no prompts. Uncommon wanted to ensure each one felt unique and reflective of the person’s character.

Port Issue 35 x Handwritten Logos

Matt Curtis, Design Director, Uncommon said:“We’re 15 covers into the new visual aesthetic of the magazine— sure a masthead would have been easier— but given Port’s nuanced history, the individuality and personal touch you get from each hand-drawn scrawl is far more powerful in delivering each and every story.”

Uncommon x All 15 Port Covers

Since the redesign Uncommon has worked with an incredible array of talent to execute 15 handwritten covers in total — working closely with photographers to bring each cover story to life.

The latest issue 35 features some of the most beautiful imagery to date including Andrew Garfield’s deeply intimate handwritten scrawl on his own palm as he reflects on grief, joy and vulnerability with friend Daisy Edgar-Jones photographed by Liz Collins.
